wow

So I haven't posted in over a month! Holidays, traveling,& spring semester starting has kept me from Etsy and my blog, but I am back. I just added two new necklaces to my store. I think they are such fun costume jewelry pieces, it was almost tough to make the decision to list them or not.

This necklace reminds me of the ones american apparel has for sale online.

I love the purple in this necklace. So pretty!

It's so cold here in FL, and by cold I mean in the 50's (freezing for me!!). I don't particularly like the cold because I have no idea how to make a cold weather outfit work. I become more concerned with being warm than fashionable, sometimes I turn out looking like an old bag woman (as my mother would say). Plus FL does not have many stores will appropriate cold weather wear so I end up layer multiple light weight items to keep warm. Also, the weather keeps me from riding my bike to campus because my ear canals are pounding from the cold wind. By the time I get to class so I have a horrible headache and cannot concentrate. I do love bon fires and marshmallows when it's cold out though.

Back to studying espanol!

My heart is in Boston

I haven't updated in soo long! I've been really busy going home for the holidays and coming back to Orlando for school. Finals week is this week which will be really stressful but I will be greatly rewarded because on Friday I will be leaving the U.S. via cruise for the Bahamas! so much fun!

Thanksgiving was fun, here's a few pictures of my niece and nephews!

I miss them soo much when I am away at school!

I have new items to post in my store but I cannot find my camera cable! Hopefully I will find it soon because I have some pretty sweaters, an awesome belt, cute dress, and some aqua bike shorts and they need to be seen!

birds of a feather..

I stayed up making these books the past few nights. It took me awhile because I dyed each individual page with coffee , tea, and food coloring. Then I cut file folders for the covers and painted them. One is this really cute Asian theme. I painted a lucky cat, some chopsticks, fortune cookie and some sushi! The other one is some birds and bird cages with feathers, skeleton keys, and beads thrown about.

paper floating in some coffee

dunking in the coffee
(those tongs did not last long and my hands are the color to prove it!)

paper in a mixture of tea and food coloring

baking paper to help them dry faster

some dried sheet, they didn't stay very flat

this is the front of the Asian themed one
I asked my boyfriend to find a Chinese proverb
and he picked this one "See sky eat rice"
haha gotta love google

I had so much fun making these! I hope they find good homes. Tomorrow (or should I say technically today) I am suppose to plant some tree with my friend on campus, it should be fun. Then after we are going to my favorite restaurant Dandelions, mmm. I hope they have the vegan cake I like!

It ripples our reflections

I decided I want to start a mailing list to keep people updated when I add new items to my Etsy store. My blog kinda does that already because I love to post my new finds and updates about my store so if you don't want me email you that is perfectly ok, but if you do then either email me at less.than.threee.v@gmail.com or comment here on this blog with your email address.

I'm looking forward to sending out my first mailing-list email!

oh yea, and I had my first sale! wooo! My store says two but the one person didn't pay so I had to re-list the item, but whatevs I had my legitimate first sale and I'm soo happy!

So today I decided to add some new things to my Etsy store. For vintage items I added a really pretty blue and yellow plaid strapless sundress, which you can see here. Another vintage item I added the brown leather woven backpack. I have a picture of the backpack in my first post but here's the link to that item in my store.

I also added some necklaces I made. I love skeleton keys! I collect them! and I love jewelry so I combined the two and made some pretty necklaces (if I do say so myself). My boyfriend photographed them for me but I think I may add some pictures of me wearing them.

Here are the three I listed:

Tonight was the shuttle launch here in FL. I love going outside when this happens and being able to see it. It went right over the moon! My camera never photographs it well it just looks like a flaming blur.

ok time to eat some hummus =]

tis the season for giving

Ever since I was little I remember participating in this charity called Operation Christmas Child. Samaritan's Purse sponsor's this event, and they help bring Christmas to children all around the world who, without your donations, would have nothing. Along with gifts they spread the word of God to the people in these different countries, it's just very touching.

If you want to make a box to donate:
All you do is pack a shoe box (or a plastic container the size of a shoe box because then they can use it to gather water!). This link helps with the packing: How to pack a shoe box

  • include things that little kids like, hygiene items, school supplies, etc

  • decorate the outside

  • include a note and either a check with $7 donation to help with shipping or you can donate your money here at this link: EZ give

Here's mine:
So I started with my empty pink shoe box (I obviously chose to fill a girl box)

and then I went to target and bought some goodies, such as
-hello kitty stickers and note pad
-polly pocket car
-play-doh
-lip gloss
-hair brush
-bubble gum
-toothbrush and tooth paste
-a yummy bar of skin trip soap

and some other stuff that little girls enjoy =]

I'm excited to drop off my box. It was fun to make

First Post!

To tell you about myself, well, I am a college student who loves art, thrifting, crafting, fashion, and shopping. I really enjoy time in my room with my dog Coco and my kitty Miso. As you can tell by what time I am posting this, I am almost nocturnal, I for some reason always stay up late. This is bad because I have a 7:30am class that I have trouble making it to.

Mostly what I plan on blogging about is just life in general and updates to my Etsy store. (Here's the link PLEASE check it out! lessthanthreee.etsy.com ). I just started listing things November 10th, 2008. Although I am not new to Etsy, I am new to selling items and selling them on Etsy. Right now I plan to just start with some vintage items and soon enough I will add some of my own artwork and jewelry I have made.

Here are a sneak peek of some items I will be listing soon:

Really cute brown woven leather backpack purse.

These brown leather huarache/ gladiator sandals

This pretty blue plaid strapless sundress.
It's still really warm here in Florida!

I love this colorful scarf!

Very 70's! Green ceramic mushroom container

Blue plaid sleeveless shirt.

and finally this bright blue bedazzled bat wing sweater!

I will post these soon I hope! I just did not want to list too many items at once, give the others some attention before these are added. Who knows, maybe I'll even have my first sale! That would make me really happy.
